We're working with an award winning designer build a sleek new environmentally friendly way to travel by river silently and fume free, the RG 55. This project is currently paused while we focus on myurbancar
The RG 55 is designed to provide an efficient and low weight showcase to prove that zero emissions is achievable for leisure and commercial marine use. The electric drives and batteries will draw plug-in power and energy generated on board to provide speed and range well outside the performance range for electric and solar boats. It will provide data for future development of vessels for commercial sale.
Rivergecko will be working with partner companies to test technology that will be used to electrify transport including low and zero emission vehicles and home power generation and storage. It will allow testing of new battery technologies and compare them in active use in the real world.
Once completed the boat will be available for charter and subject to approvals will be used as a luxurious form of river travel for a up to 12 passengers. It will be designed to operate anywhere from the Thames estuary and upstream to Henley and beyond.
Rivergecko will be looking for technology partners and sponsors to supplement funds raised from investors and Government grants. When launched, the boat will be based in London and will provide a high profile opportunity for luxury and financial brands.
